This event is an IML/IVV sanctioned three day event of Fun, Fitness and International Friendships. The IML sanctioned walk event is two days, Saturday and Sunday. There are IVV sanctioned walk, bicycling, and swim events available for all three days.
Join walkers from all over the world on our trails as they wind past iconic memorials and through sacred grounds in Arlington, VA and Washington DC.
Walk for the Freedom Walk Medal
• IML Trails from 6 to 14 miles (10 to 22 kilometers), and 5/6Km on both Saturday and Sunday.
• AVA/IVV Welcome Walk 3 or 6 Miles (5, 10 Kilometers)
• One Bike Event

The American Legion Post 139 is located 0.30 of a mile from the Virginia Square-GMU Metro Station, (Silver and Orange Lines), which is part of the Washington Metro-rail system. Please use this link to plan your journey, www.wmata.com. There is no parking for walkers at the site. There is paid parking available on the local streets and near by parking lot.
Note: parking can be a problem in this downtown area. Please arrive early and pay attention to parking restrictions on meters.
