AN ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE BOARD OF THE IML Walking Association:
The board of the IML is very happy to announce that the La Marche Maple Leaf March – Ottawa, Canada event has joined the IML family.
Our many congratulations to the organizers of the La Marche Maple Leaf March and we wish them every success in 2025 and for many more years to come.
La Marche Maple Leaf March will be holding their event this year on 10th-12th October 2025 (the Friday being a welcome walk/opening ceremony with the IML walks taking place on the Saturday/Sunday).
In Ottawa, Canada this year you can receive the IML stamp as well as an IVV stamp.
The addition of Ottawa, Canada to the IML Calendar and with Arlington, USA scheduled to hold their event the following weekend, this will enable walkers travelling to the North American region to be able to attend 2 IML walks in consecutive weekends.
Many walkers have been eagerly awaiting a decision on the Canada walk becoming an IML member, to enable them to make travel arrangements.
Please keep an eye on the organizers website as details for Registration etc are announced.
As a further incentive to walkers, those who have completed all current IML walks will be eligible to purchase and receive the brand new IML award – UNIVERSAL WALKER award, of which Canada will be the 1st IML event to be able to present this award.
We at the IML are looking forward to working closely with Stephen Kaufman, Eric Drouin, Marylin Lemay and the other organizers of the Ottawa walk.

USFWF - *******UPDATE NEWS*******
We have now reached an agreement with the American Legion on Washington Boulevard. This will be our new HQ for the walks.
All trails will now start and finish at this location. Check other pages for details re location, transport and hotels close by.

Gunstan Middle School
The Gunstan Middle School as part of their after school program for FUN, FITNESS & INTERNAL FRIENDSHIP, will again walk to the 24th US FreedomWalk Festival.
At the new walk HQ, (American Legion on Washington Boulevard) for the USFWF, they will be part of the Opening Ceremony to celebrate our walking program.

Dear All, The Walk of the World, The IML's largest event has just will soon be open for registration online. The event hosts an estimated of 47,000 walkers. There are options to participate, over the four days, 200, 160 or 120 Km depending on age or choice. I have listed below the stats for the four days.
