Event Program 2024

The festival has walks and activities programmed each day. The walk, bike & swim events cater for a range of interests and abilities from beginners to experts.

Note that the 21km on Saturday and Sunday are IML Association accredited walks. All walks are IVV accredited.

FRIDAY

12.00pm - 6.00pm
Check-in or register and collect registration packs at the Registration Centre, Hilton National Landing, 2399 Richmond Highway, Arlington, VA 22202. Note: registration can occur on Saturday or Sunday mornings before the walk start (registration opens at 6.30am each day).

12.00pm – 3.00pm

Welcome Walk 5/10km.

4.00pm at the Hilton National Landing
Opening Ceremony & celebrations for start of festival.

SATURDAY

Registration opens at 6.30am.

Day ONE Walks

START TIME: Saturday – 21 +/- km @ 8.00am 6/12 +/- km @ 8.00am

These walks will follow routes through the Washington DC area and include some of National Monuments and buildings famous in the USA.

12.30pm – 4.30pm

Live entertainment on stage at Hilton National Landing.

SUNDAY

Registration opens at 6.30am.

Day TWO Walks

START TIME: Sunday - 21 +/- km @ 8.00am 6/12 +/- km @ 8.00am.

These walks will follow routes largely through the city, parks, historical towns, Potomac riverside and points of historical interest throughout the area.

12.30 noon – 4.00pm
Live entertainment on stage at Hilton National Landing.

3pm - Closing Ceremony

A short closing ceremony and farewell to participants from around the world. There will also be presentations of significant IML

awards.
